Back in 2014 a huge tornado swept through my community.
I remember it was very windy, and soon later after checking the news, I realized that my community would never be the same. Driving through parts of town brought tears to my eyes. This was a beautiful shaded drive, I thought more than once. Houses and businesses were gone. Praise the Lord that no one was seriously injured, just buildings and houses.
I was thinking the other day about the tornado and how my community bonded and worshiped the Lord through the storm.
It was a terrible situation, but Yahweh brought good from it.
Sometimes in our own lives we have storms.
Storms send us running into hiding. We want to hide from them and never experience them, but storms are what give us faith. Storms open our eyes to how Yahweh can work in our lives.
What storm is raging in your life?
Have you prayed to God about it? Let’s take some time, despite how hard the rain is pouring or how hard the wind is howling, to focus on the only One who can deliver.
With Him you can rest in the storm.
And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
