He Knows Your Secrets

This truth might terrify you, but it also might be the comfort you need today:

God knows your secrets.

Pretty scary, eh? He knows our every thought. He knows our every hope and dream and disappointment and sin.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:13)

Sometimes in fear we hide from Yahweh, thinking we’re too messed up to approach Him, thinking He’s too holy to love us sinners. Other times we get so caught up in ourselves, our lives, our self-righteousness, that we’re blind to the broken places in our hearts.

We all have brokenness. And it’s in those broken, human places that the light breaks through. It’s in those ugly places that He wants to meet with you. In those secret battles in our minds and hearts, He wants to be victorious. In our weakness He is glorified.

And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Maybe you don’t feel like you have much faith today. But you can come before Him anyway, knowing that He sees you and loves you and wants to bring you out of the brokenness that haunts you.

Let Him do what His Spirit always does.

Let Him heal. Let Him redeem. Let Him do a new work. Let Him break your heart of stone, and give you a heart of flesh. Let Him change your course. Let Him be the one in control.

Truth be told, I need these reminders everyday.

Surrender isn’t easy for any of us. A life lived for eternity is often a painful road, yet it’s filled with the deepest joy–a joy that circumstances can’t steal away, and that hardship only strengthen. I want that joy. How about you? And there’s only one way to receive it.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. (John 15:9-11)

Where does your soul need healing?

Surrender those secret places of your heart to the One who loves you more than any other. And prepare yourself to be amazed at what He does.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
