A Prayer for Our Veterans (And Other Ways to Show Appreciation)

Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11 each year in the United States. It was the day that Germany surrendered in 1918. On November 11, 1918 at the eleventh hour, the Great War (later called World War 1) was over.

Americans have this day to honor our veterans and thank them for their service to our country.

Whether you live here in the States or somewhere else in the world, we should thank those that have risked their lives for us to live in freedom.

Here is a prayer that I have written in honor of Veterans day.

Heavenly Father, there is none like You! Thank You for my country, the United States. Thank You of the freedom that I have to freely worship You. I want to take this time to pray for the veterans of my country. Thank You for those men and women that have risked their lives for my freedom. Help me to have a new appreciation for those that have served in the military. Amen.

Her are some other ways to thank veterans:

1)When you see a hat that says, “Vietnam Veteran”, take the time to walk up to the person and say thank you.

2)Write a letter to a veteran that you know thanking them.

3)If you have a family member that served, be sure to call them up and thank them.

4)Anyone in uniform, be sure to thank them for their service to our country.

5)Make something and take it by your local VA or Post for the veterans there to thank them for their service.

6)Be sure to pray for those that are serving our country now.

Hello, we're Peyton and Joy. We're two friends who love Jesus and have a passion for prayer. We've both experienced times in our lives when we've struggled to pray, and times when we've felt such strength in prayer. We've seen God's grace touch our lives, and we want to share that grace here.
