Guest Post: Praying for an Enduring Friendship

This post is shared with us by our friend Sarah. I can speak for both of us how blessed we are to call Sarah our friend. The testimony she shares truly points to our God who hears our prayers and blesses His children with sweet friendships.

Sarah shares…

Before high school, I attended “regular school”. That means I was always in contact with lots of people with close ages. But there, I would never find a true friend. Their thoughts were not pure, they were not Christ followers, and their friendship was not enduring. So as the Bible says:

“…In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6)

I prayed for months. I prayed for years.

My brother never attended “regular” school because he was homeschooled. So one day I thought of homeschooling too. I started to search on the internet for homeschooling things that could help me and then I opened an image with the title “homeschool jokes”.

I rarely do this, but this time I clicked the link beside the image and entered a blog called “Blog of Joy.” This click changed my life… FOREVER…

I read some of the posts and watched a funny video by Blimey Cow called “You might be a homeschooler if…”. But I still had my doubts. I wasn’t sure yet…Should I get out of school and start homeschooling?

I was tired of what I had to hear every day: bad words, nonsense, ideologies. I was tired of having to get out of the classroom when they would watch movies a Christian shouldn’t watch, and all of these things were leading me into depression.

One day I had a dream.

I dreamed I was in a bus that was taking people to high school. Then the bus stopped, and my classmates started to get off. A girl asked me: “Aren’t you going to get off the bus too?”  I answered her I wouldn’t, because I needed to take care of a sick girl.

I woke up the next morning with that dream still fresh in my head, but…

“WHO WAS THAT SICK GIRL I NEEDED TO TAKE CARE OF?”

I told my mom the dream I had had, and she just smiled and asked me: “Is there any sick girl  needing to be taken cared of?”

It was me.

I was sick. My soul was sick. And I would not go to school because I needed to take care of my heart.

After this, I started homeschooling. I created my blog called agulhanopalheirosarah.wordpress.com, and I searched for Joy’s blog again. I made a comment on one of her posts. She answered me, and we started to get in  touch by email, and chatting by Skype. We became friends. We became close friends. We became true and close friends.

Some time later, Joy talked to me about Peyton. And Peyton and I started talking on Skype too. We also became true and close friends.

This is the story of an enduring friendship.

I have not had yet the opportunity of giving Joy and Peyton a BIG HUG, but I love them with all of my heart. They are very special! They are a blessing, a gift from God, and an answer to a prayer. A prayer of years, a prayer from my heart.

Hello, we're Peyton and Joy. We're two friends who love Jesus and have a passion for prayer. We've both experienced times in our lives when we've struggled to pray, and times when we've felt such strength in prayer. We've seen God's grace touch our lives, and we want to share that grace here.

    1. Oh, and I visited your blog, it looks wonderful, but I can’t read Spanish! Do you have a translation option?

      1. Hi Olivia♡! I’m glad to know you enjoyed the post, and I’m also happy you visited my blog! Actually I’m from Brazil, so most of the posts are in Portuguese. Sometimes Google offers the option of translation, but if that’s not happening, no problem! I have good news: Since some of my readers are American, from now on, my posts are going to be in both languages. Have a wonderful day! May God bless you! ♥♥♥ Sarah ♥♥♥

        P. S. Here there’s a post in both languages: https://agulhanopalheirosarah.wordpress.com/2016/08/28/ele-me-salvou/
