Sometimes Yahweh places us in seasons of waiting, and it’s not easy.
I have childhood memories of waiting on my father to get home from trips. I would lay in bed wishing that he was home or that I was with him. Sometimes I would even stand at the door of our house waiting for him to arrive. When he finally returned, I would run outside and my father would pick me up and give me a big hug. Ah! My waiting was over.
As the years go by, we continue to wait for things.
Maybe you are waiting to hear from someone or waiting for a job to open up. I have waited on many answers to prayers. Waiting is hard and even causes the heart to long for and wish for things that may or may not ever come to fruition.
Waiting is something that people in the Bible had to do as well.
Waiting has been around since the beginning of time. Even before sin entered the world, Adam had to wait for Eve. Later, Abraham had to wait for Isaac. Moses had to wait eighty years before Yahweh used him to lead the Israelites. David had to wait to become king of Israel, Israel had to wait for the Messiah, and we are waiting for the return of the Messiah.
Here are some prayers that I hope will guide you through this season of your life.
